What is a cat café?

A cat café offers the charm of a regular café, serving delicious food and drinks, with an irresistible twist. Beside the café lies a cozy cat lounge, a warm and inviting space filled with happy, healthy cats awaiting adoption. Guests can enjoy watching the playful felines from the café or pay an admission fee to step into the cat lounge and spend quality time mingling with these adorable companions.

Is onsite parking available?

Yes, free onsite parking is available for guests and is located in the rear of the building. There is also free public parking available in front of the building along Old Mission Avenue.
Oversized Vehicles - For those traveling in large trucks, full-sized SUVs or other oversized vehicles, we recommend using the free public parking available along Old Mission Avenue. The size of our parking lot is small, which makes maneuvering large vehicles difficult.
Accessibility - A designated accessible parking space is available onsite and is located in the rear of the building.
Are you an animal shelter?

No. We operate as a foster home for Feline Canopy of Care, our non-profit cat rescue partner. While we assist Feline Canopy of Care in their mission by operating as a foster and showcasing cats for adoption, we cannot accept cats directly from individuals. We simply lack the capacity and are not authorized to operate as a shelter. Please do not leave animals here—doing so is illegal under F.S. 828.13(3). If you need assistance finding a cat rescue, feel free to contact us; we will gladly connect you with one of the many rescues in the St. Augustine area.
Do you need volunteers?

Always! If you are interested in volunteering in our cat lounge or with our cat rescue partner, Feline Canopy of Care, please visit their website at fcocinc.org to fill out a volunteer application.
Why is there a fee to visit a cat café?

Actually, it is free to visit the café area and view the cats, all while sipping on your wine or latte. However, in order to help defray the costs of housing and caring for the cats, there is an admission fee to access the cat lounge to spend time and interact with these wonderful felines. For one hour access to the cat lounge, there will be an admission fee of $15/person plus tax. Children, under 2 years of age, will be admitted free of charge.
Are reservations required?

No, but recommended. The café area is open to all guests; however, reservations are required to guarantee access to the cat lounge as space is limited. Walk-ins are certainly welcome, but will be placed on a wait list and admitted to the cat lounge based on availability. Please call us prior to visiting if you would like to access the cat lounge and do not have a reservation.
What is the adoption process?

All cats at The Witty Whisker Cat Cafe are provided by Feline Canopy of Care, a local, non-profit, cat rescue. Anyone interested in adopting a cat must go through the Feline Canopy of Care’s adoption process. Please visit their website a fcocinc.org to fill out the online adoption application.
How much is the adoption fee?

Please visit Feline Canopy of Care’s website, fcocinc.org, for more information. All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and microchipped. The entire adoption fee goes to Feline Canopy of Care to help offset the cost of veterinary care.
